We fund charities working to alleviate poverty, address financial hardship, support food banks for people and pets, and enable pet rescue and adoption.

Our Vision
Our vision is simple: no person or pet should go without the essentials - food, shelter and care.

Our Mission
Our mission is to fund front-line charities tackling poverty, food insecurity and pet welfare - delivering practical support where it's needed most.

Funding for charities supporting people and pets
We support small and medium charities, by funding practical projects - food banks for people and pets, homelessness support, financial crisis assistance, and pet rescue and adoption.
The Florence Foundation is already making a difference across communities in the North West of England.
To date, we have awarded over £147,000 in grants - and counting.

Grants recently awarded
In November our trustees met to review 22 grant applications. Here are just a few of the grants we approved.
Pet food bank receives funding
In partnership with the Smallshaw Hurst Community Action Group, we are launching our first Pet Food Bank.
Building on their existing community food bank, this initiative will help ensure that people facing hardship can keep their pets—preventing unnecessary separation and supporting wellbeing.
We are proud to support this project and the positive impact it will deliver locally. We also aim to use the insight gained to encourage other food banks to introduce pet food provision
Pet rescue and adoption
We have awarded a grant to Tiny Paws Manchester, a small animal rescue charity.
Our funding is supporting the construction of a new rodent retreat—expanding their capacity to care for and rehome animals at a time when demand is rising.
This investment will help more pets get the second chance they deserve.
Poverty and financial hardship
We have partnered with Maundy Relief in Accrington to fund a new out-of-hours drop-in service for residents in Hyndburn.
As demand rises—driven by unemployment and in-work poverty—this service will provide a safe, secure place for people to access vital support when it’s needed most.
